> How Geenius Chat tells you about a new message: a count in the app, push, your phone, and an e-mail if you do not read it. You choose the channels and quiet hours.

You decide how Chat reaches you. Each person sets their own channels in **Notification settings**.

| Channel | What it does |
|---|---|
| In the app | A number next to Messages and the list of unread conversations. |
| Push | A notice on a phone or computer, even when the app is closed. You turn it on per browser. |
| Phone | A notice in your workspace's Inbox on your phone for a new message. |
| E-mail | One e-mail per conversation when a message is still unread after the time you chose (5 minutes up to a day). |

## Quiet hours

Choose hours, for example 22:00 to 07:00, when you want no push and no e-mail. Notices that came during that time arrive when it ends. You can switch quiet hours off.

## What a push contains

A push never contains the message. It only wakes your device to say you have a new one; the words stay in Chat. An e-mail carries a short preview of the first unread message, so keep secrets out of messages.

## Only when unread

Reading the conversation, in the app or through an agent, cancels the pending e-mail. You get at most one notice per conversation until you have read it.

## Language

Notices come in English, German or Dutch, as you choose.
